On the 14th day of the campaign trail, federal party leaders made key promises. Liberal Mark Carney, speaking in Oakville, Ontario, offered a plan to address the skills shortage: new grants for apprentices, more union training, and $20 million to expand college places. He also promised to make it easier for workers to move between provinces to “build a unified economy for Canada.”

NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh, speaking in St. John’s, promised that by 2030, every Canadian will have access to a family doctor. To do so, his party would increase provincial funding by 1%, provided that they guarantee doctors for everyone.

Pierre Poilievre (Conservatives) in British Columbia plans to cut bureaucracy by 25% in two years by implementing a “two for one” approach — eliminating two regulations for every new one.

The Leger poll shows liberals in the lead, with 20% of their voters considering Carney the best candidate to take on Trump. Conservatives, on the other hand, are voting more against liberals.
